light – shadows – waves

A series of artistic experiments and attempts to understand through them seemingly self-evident phenomena – sound and light. By using light as a source for sound, it makes intangible and invisible phenomena visible and workable visually, opening up new possibilities for experimentation.

The experiments are done in public as an educational experimental performance/workshop – the participants are invited to hear about the principles of recording, playing and generating sound using different types of lights and shadows and a solar panel. The elements for creating sound can be – a bottle of water, a fidget-spinner, a string attached to a speaker, any string that can be plucked to make a sound, simple DC motors, christmas lights, stroboscopes etc. Each of these elements have different properties for generating sound through photoacoustic principles.
